Australian East Coast

The second part on the Austrlian post, the Est Coast, the East Coast is more populated than the West Coast but very nice too. I start with the Northeast, enjoy this trip to far away country.

Cairns

For me, it is my favorite city, I like the tropical climate and the relaxing lifestyle. We can not swim in the ocean, there are still crocodile, shark and jellyfish but there is a large lagoon where we can swim. North of Cairns, we arrive in the jungle, The Daintree rainforest, it’s a really amazing place, so beautiful and sparsely populated. Cairns is also the best place to dive in the Great Barrier Reef with a stunning marine life. we need to book a cruise in the whitesunday island and visited whiteheaven the most beautiful beach in the world.

we go down

Brisbane

I did not stay very long time in this city but I tell you the best things to do there. The most popular place in the city is South Bank, a beautiful garden where you can walk, swim in the lagoon and have fun with friends. Along the coast, we find Fraser island the biggest sand island of the world, we rent a 4WD and start to drive on the beach and sand dunes, it is so fun.

we continue to go down a little bit

Byron Bay and Nimbin

I love this city because there are hippie, peace and love and surfing vibe, it is the coolest town in Australia. The people are walking with no shoes and there are street singers everywhere, it’s really  heaven on earth. At 70 km from there, there is another wonder city, Nimbin, a colorful city with an ultra relaxed atmosphere, everybody smoke and sell weed, marijuana, magic mushroom and happy cake. It is not legal but nobody said nothing, it is a strange place with happy vibe.

Sydney

The most famous city in Australia with the famous opera house, Habour bridge with a panoramic view and of course Bondi Beach and its famous swimming pool. 2 hours from Sydney, we can visit the Blues Mountains, it’s a national park listed to UNESCO world heritage since 2008, there are many hiking trail  and one of the treasure of this park is the 3 sisters, 3 large rocks with an exceptional viewpoint.

Melbourne

A cosmopolitan city with a mix of classic, modern and artistic monuments. The weather is so changeable in one day. We can find street art everywhere, the famous tramway and the st kilda beach where we can go for a nice bicycle ride. Melbourne has been named the world’s most liveable city for few years.

From there, we take a popular road

Great Ocean Road

A famous road along the Southern Coast of Australia (250 km), one of the most beautiful scenic roads in the world, surfing spots with the great sports brand Quiksilver and Rip Curl. The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks, only 7 are left. It is also one place where we could see free koalas, there are not so many in Australia.

And the last stop before we finish the tour

Adelaide

It’s a classic city, but very famous for swim with a big bad fish, the white shark. From Adelaide we can take a ferry to visit Kangaroo Island, it is a widlife paradise, we can see kangaroos, koalas, dolphins, sea lion in their natural habitat, it’s just so amazing to see.
